Any change in the returning waves is detected and the light is switched on. The sensor builds a 360 ° map of the area using the reflected radio waves and monitors it constantly. Microwave sensors use high frequency radio waves that work in a similar way to radar. Some of our sensor lights offer adjustable distance and time, so you can set the length of time the light stays on after detection of movement. Lights with a P.I.R are energy efficient, detect body heat to switch the light on only when necessary. Motion sensors come in two varieties: those with a P.I.R. Once finished, simply turn it back to P.I.R. We have a range of sensor lights with an Override function so you can bypass the sensor and turn the light on permanently for entertaining or sitting outside. Motion and PIR lights are used around driveways, walkways, gates, porches and other entrances to provide illumination for visitors or offer security at night. They detect movement and turn on the light when it is necessary, eliminating the need for manual operation or timers. They are fitted with combined PIR and photocell sensors so they only operate during darkness.
